LAS VEGAS, July 10 – “With 100 million female genital mutilation (FGM) victims in Africa,
Clitoraid is seeking moral and financial support from First Lady Michelle Obama and former First Lady Laura Bush to help build a clitoral restoration clinic in East Africa," said Nadine Gary, head of communications for Clitoraid, a non-profit, U.S.-based organization that was launched by spiritual leader and human rights activist Rael to assist FGM victims.

"Clitoraid applauds Mrs. Bush's renovation of a Cervical Cancer Screening Clinic in Zambia and Mrs. Obama's first meeting of the First Ladies of Africa in Tanzania last Tuesday," Gary said. "Now we ask their support in building a clitoral restoration medical facility in East Africa like the one Clitoraid plans to open in Burkina Faso, West Africa, in March 2014, which will be the first of its kind in the world."

Gary explained that the need of FGM victims in East Africa is urgent and widespread.

“Cervical cancer screening is an important medical service to offer African women, but surgically reversing the damage done by female genital mutilation may be even more of a priority in Eastern Africa, where 72 percent of the women have been clitorally excised, according to the Women's Health Organization,"Gary said. "FGM victims from that geographical area are writing to Clitoraid every day. They’re begging us to make them surgically whole again, to bring back their dignity as women, and to put an end to the relentless physical suffering they’ve had from the horrific mutilation they endured as little girls.”

Gary added that Dr. Bowers, Clitoraid’s head surgeon will be operating on 10 new FGM patients currently residing in North America,” Gary explained. “We note that although they are now living the Western world, 80 percent of these scheduled patients were born in East Africa.”

CLITORAID supports Islamists RIP and Sista Fa in their fight against excision in Senegal

Dakar June 17 - CLITORAID congratulates and encourages the Senegalese State with the Islamic Network and (RIP) population, which managed to set up “The Islamic Argument” against the practice of excision in Senegal. This will make it possible to better explain to populations that this practice is not part of any Islamic recommendation and, consequently, must be abolished.

Indeed, there is no recommendation found in the Koran that dictates this barbaric act, as epitomized by the excision inflicted onto young girls. Such a recommendation could not come from the Messenger of Allah/Elohim who created the male and female human body “In their image.” If the clitoris was useless or without a function, women would have been created without one.

Thus, CLITORAID supports Senegalese artist Sista Fa, a pro-human rights’ activist, in her very dignified fight against excision, which she, herself, was the victim of. Consequently, she finds the aggressiveness of the pro-excision group against her during her human rights’ and excision awareness tour at Aere-Lao (in Fouta) on May 24th 2013, deplorable. This act of aggression is a strong signal to all those who fight against FGM to double down on their efforts in order to help these dissidents understand that this practice only brings deep and devastating consequences and scars for women. Any person imbued with deep feelings for justice and love for “thy neighbor” would never commit such an act of belligerence.

Clitoraid is an international non-profit organization founded on the idea put forth by the Spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement to end female genital mutilations by offering a free surgical restoration procedure to all victims of this barbaric act and give back to these women a sense of pleasure and dignity. The Kamkasso hospital, which was built for this purpose, will be inaugurated on October 8th in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Successful Clitoraid fundraising at the Fort Lauderdale Adult Expo

For the sixth year in a row, the Miami Clitoraid team was honored to be given a free table at the Exxxotica Porn show on June 1-2 giving them the opportunity to raise money for Clitoraid. This year the show had moved from North Miami Beach, FL to the north in the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center which drew on a fresh new crowd for our cause.

This time, the Florida team was joined by Fenda, a young African woman from Senegal who suffered from the FGM as a child and who had recently reached Clitoraid to have her Clitoral Restoration Surgery one day. Her presence in the booth was very moving to everyone in the team of course, and to all those with whom she kindly shared her story.

Raquel Vergara, the Miami Clitoraid leader, cheered everyone with her bubbly personality and dazzled the crowd with her sexy, sassy outfits! She had once again baked her famous homemade 'chocolate pussies' which were sold in no time to the many visitors who felt compassion for the plight of FGM victims. This candy will help buy the medical equipment necessary for our 'Pleasure' hospital.

In the booth, our team had dressed a poster board of Obama with an 'adopt a clitoris' Tshirt because our president must without a doubt be personally touched by the horrors of FGM. Indeed, more than 80% of the Kenyan women have had their clitoris mutilated and most likely, his 91 year old grand-mother, Sarah Onyango Obama is herself, an FGM victim.

The Swiss Clitoraid team gathers the first medical shipment bound for the Pleasure Hospital in Burkina Faso

The following report is one of a beautiful human adventure where 19 volunteers from the Swiss Clitoraid team met at a Medical Depot in Saland, Switzerland, to gather some of the donated medical goods necessary for Clitoraid's 'pleasure' hospital in Burkina Faso, due to open on Oct. 8.

Elisabeth recalls: "After traveling over 200 miles for most of us, we all arrived well before the opening of the warehouse at 9AM where we had been invited to find free medical equipment for the Pleasure Hospital. The legendary Swiss punctuality was once again at work. LOL!

Our leader, Philgood gathered everyone for a brief meditation that made us fully aware of the humanitarian action we were about to participate in... Bertrand informed us of the team we were to join and what function each one of us was to perform. Our kind organizers: Bernard F and Philippe R had carefully mapped out the day: Nothing was missing from the tools to the proper logislics. They had done a remarkable job prior to this day which allowed everyone to remain in harmony throughout the morning. Emilie had brought all the necessary set up to make delicious French crêpes for us at lunch.

Stéphane Lanz soon arrived and introduced himself to everyone. He opened the doors to the warehouse and our fabulous team began working like ants in an ant house. The warehouse was huge and it was necessary to proceed methodically.

In a few minutes, the team was already working efficiently: first and foremost, to find the surgical instruments which Lilipeace, Bilitis, Alexandra, Elisabeth, Lilou immediately set out to do. Then, to find the first aid boxes, a job handed out to Allan, Etienne, Markette, Nac , Mario who were careful to check each required item and transported the bundle on pallets toward the center of the warehouse.

There, the bundle was given to François, Lucie so they would count everything. Simultaneously, another team made up of Nac, Markette finalized the pallets while Markette, Nac, Jacques, Sonia tied them up and secured them with wooden wedges.

Meanwhile, our great Mario ran from one pallet to the next to film the end product in this huge space. It was then Allan's turn to transport the pallets with a fork lift toward the back of the warehouse and with the help of Philippe R and Bernard they displayed them with care, they weighed them and measured them. Lilou and Etienne finally tagged them on all 4 sides.

Stéphane Lanz, the manager of the warehouse affiliated with MPT (Medicine for all) was stunned. It was the first time that he witnessed all this including Emilie making crêpes in the middle of the warehouse at the center of this busy beehive... a great moment !

Stéphane even asked for a picture! We all had our task and with the 19 of us, we managed to succeed at preparing, wrapping, weighing, tagging (though it is far from being our job in our daily lives), 5 tons of goods moved in 5 hours.

Stéphane Lanz had never seen this done in this way and admired us. The atmosphere was so wonderful. Philgood, our leader and Diplomat maintained good communication with Stéphane and at the same time visited each team to insure that all was going well.

Marc André photographed these great moments and Etienne filmed each step of this day and as this report shows, each one of us handled many different tasks to reach our commun goal. All was fluid, admirable and will remain a great moment in our life filled with positive emotions. We were working together in harmony. At 2PM, the doors of the warehouse closed upon a mission well accomplished and all bundled up... We were all consciously happy to have been part of a great moment . Now, the pallets are put away and ready to be shipped to Africa for the Pleasure Hospital.

Finally, it was time for all of us to drive away back to our respective homes following this extraordinary moment but not before stopping for a well deserved restaurant break gathered together around our leader, Philgood.
